TUTORS

The Hunter Community College welcomes applications from anyone who is passionate about adult learning and has the appitude and desire to transfer their skills and knowledge to others.

The College operates on the basis of a 4 term year, similar to a school term, however usually our courses start one week after school returns.

We offer night, weekend and day courses and workshops in Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and Maitland.

Our Course Program is distributed approximately 4 weeks prior to the commencement of each term.   Tutor applications are required at the beginning of the term preceeding the term in which you wish to tutor.

Tutors are employed on a sessional/casual basis and on a term by term basis.  Once we receive and review your application you may be asked to attend an interview.  You will be required to undergo a Working With Children background check.

If you don't have a background or qualifications in teaching you will still be considered.  We prefer that you have at least the 'Train Small Groups' or equivalent from the Cert IV in Training and Assessment.  If you don't have this - the college runs workshops to allow you the opportunity to attain the skills and knowledge to become a tutor for general courses.    If you wish to be a trainer of accredited courses you must have at least the Certificate IV in  Assessment and  Workplace training and appropriate industry experience.

If you are interested in becoming a tutor or trainer at the Hunter Community College please call us on 49529115 or email admin@hcc.nsw.edu.au and ask for a Tutor employment pack.
